Acne
Acne, also called pimples, are bane of teenage years. They can start as early as 12 to 14 years and can continue upto 25 years of age. They are seen on the face and sometimes also on the chest, shoulders, upper arm, back and scalp.
Acne can run in families and is associated with oily skin, dandruff and sometimes in older women, hormone problems. Correct timely medication, combination with peels and blue light therapy allows us to treat acne completely.
Though what few people know is that good maintenance and skin care is just as important to prevent relapses or recurrences.
Acne Scar Removal
Today it is possible to permanently remove embarrassing scars cause by Acne.
A variety of treatments such as Dermaroller, excision, subcision, peels and ER- YAG laser are available. The basic prerequisite is that active acne must be treated and stopped before any scars are treated permanently.
Depending on the individual, a single or a combination of the above mentioned treatments is done to achieve between 70% to 90% clearing of scars. Total treatment time extends from 3 to 6 months and depending on the procedures chosen 1 to 5 sittings may be required.
